Rocket Ribeiro: Shared Memory
Amid concrete and memories, Rocket Ribeiro’s work emerges like a vibrant pulse, a heartbeat rooted in the fringes of São Paulo. Born in the Jardim São Pedro neighborhood, on the city’s far eastern edge, the artist found in graffiti a language to express urgency, youth, and freedom beginning in 2006. Fueled by the energy of hip-hop, the bonds of friendship, and that irreverence unique to adolescence, Rocket transforms walls into canvases for expression and emotion. A member of the OTM crew, he has developed a unique, instantly recognizable style. His humanoid figures, splashed with spontaneous strokes, vibrate with intense colors and defy the classical laws of anatomy. They seem both fragile and powerful, as if suspended between dream and reality, between memory and invention.
